Being the grandson of a miner, Les Corons is a song that holds deep meaning for me.
To pay tribute to the region where he grew up, Pierre Bachelet chose to write about Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
The song tells the story of a childhood spent in the mining basin. Through the iconic corons of the region, it allows those who listen and those who sing it to remember and carry on the legacy of our elders, to whom we owe this landscape, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Just as Pierre Bachelet did in 1982, I too wish, in my own way, to pay tribute to the mining basin through his words.
Through a set of postcards, a fragment of coal, a fragment of history, a fragment of this heritage.
